Fabric > Labels forever <3!! This was super helpful as ThredUp is one of the secondhand sites that most overwhelms me when it comes to digging for treasures!
I look at ThredUp as the virtual equivalent of a Goodwill outlet store: more effort, but the potential for greater rewards. (Plus at least with ThredUp you typically don't have to worry about finding strange items in the pockets!)
This post couldn’t be more on brand—reframing ThreadUp as an online Goodwill and the search method you prescribed was an epiphany that turned this lifelong ThreadUp seller into a ThreadUp shopping sleuth. Godspeed to all.
💯 agree with you re liberating yourself from hyped luxury brand loyalty in favor of many of the brands you mention and prioritizing fit/fabric. Fit/fabric is make or break in my book above all else. Great tips!!
I used your methods and found some amazing things within like a ten minute window. I wanted to include screenshots but SS isn’t letting me (user error maybe) - but seriously damnnnn
I know, I wish SS allowed us to attach photos to comments — I’ve struggled with the same thing! Glad you found some good stuff and feel free to share the links in lieu of screenshots, as I’m curious to see what you found!
I was just on ThredUp yesterday browsing pieces to refresh my wardrobe after a pretty strict no-buy period. I wasn’t finding anything that really stood out to me, but I also didn’t know how to filter through the sheer volume of items. This is SO helpful and really inspires me. Love what you’ve found.
Measurements like waist and inseam are sometimes provided, but if they aren’t then I’ll try to find the item on another site using keywords to describe it (for the ATP sandals for example, I was curious if they ran small and so searched ATP thong platform sandal and found them along with Poshmark listings noting their fit). It’s also a good way to comparison shop across platforms, as sometimes I end up going for the same thing but on Poshmark because it’s a better size, color, etc.

This is so helpful! I’ve never shopped ThredUp before but you bet I’m gonna. Your finds look amaze
Thank you! Please report back on what you find!

That makes me so happy to hear! I wish The RealReal would catch on and improve their filtering options 🤞
This is so great, thank you! ThredUP has remained a weird mystery to me... But how do you get around measurements not being provided? (Or do you not)

I love thredUP but it took me a while to figure it out-this is great!
Me too! They've really upped their game recently with options like filtering by fabric.
